Diane keeps popping up in my brain and memories. Wow, I sure do miss her. Here is a quote that I came across today: "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal."
Speaking on this subject, one of the guys who reports to my boss lost his wife to cancer this past weekend. She was only 43 years and has young children. Her situation ended very much like Diane's - cancer went to liver, hospice involved, family with her when she passed. So sad, isn't it? I HATE cancer. There must be something we can do?!
Sorry to bring you down - just venting a little.
I love you girls.

ReplyDeleteI hate hate hate cancer too and miss our sweet Diane and her beautiful words.
Sorry to hear about your co-worker...
so young, so sad.
Oh my,,,,,so sad. The quote in your post is so true. The love we have for Diane will always be with us - as will the sorrow of losing her to the horrible cancer. I am so sorry for your co-worker. I have a friend in the hospital now with a second round of cancer. She had extensive surgery to remove most of her intestines, abdominal wall, cancerous masses in her pelvic area. Now she has an infection and is going to have to have further surgery in a couple days. She has been in the hospital for 3 weeks already and will have to go to a rehab center when she is strong enough.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what we can do, but to let those we know who are in these situations we are there for them and look for ways to help them. I heard of one woman whose friend had cancer and she did her laundry for her throughout her treatments. In Diane's case she didn't let us do much of anything for her until the last few months. If I should have to go through that I am giving you permission right now to come and live with me until I am better - and of course do my laundry and cooking. Deal?
